FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The percentage of those in the Golden State without health insurance dropped to 11 percent in 2014, according to new figures from the California Health Care Foundation.
Residents between the ages of 21 and 24 saw the largest decline of any non-elderly group, during the first full year of the Affordable Care Act.
However, 3.8 million Californians under the age of 65 were still without insurance.
The number one reason, according to the foundation, is a lack of affordability.
