FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Californians widely support the governor call for mandatory water conservation, according to a new survey by Field Poll.
Nearly two-thirds of respondents say water agencies should by forced to cut back by an average of 25%.
However, more than 40% of homeowners, don’t believe they can reduce their water usage, in any significant fashion. A vast majority say they’re alarmed by the prospect of rate hikes.
Heading into another bone-dry summer, agencies are scrambling to conserve water; but, many say making substantial changes will take time.
