Showcase Of Local Produce Starts With Valley Fruit Trail

Fresh Peaches

FRESNO (KMJ) — If you’ve got a hankering for some fruit to start off your week – the valley is could well the place to be today.

That’s because the 12th Annual Fresno County Fruit Trail opens its metaphorical doors Monday morning,

It starts on the intersection of Clovis and Jensen avenues in southeast. Organizers say valley grown fruits such as plums, nectarines, cherries, and peaches will all be on sale.

“Visitors can come out to the trail and taste and experience what valley agriculture is all about”, says Fresno County Office of Tourism’s Kristi Johnson.

“We put this together 12 years ago as a way to let people know how close these family farms and fruit stands are – that you can drive 15 minutes out of Fresno and you can be right in the middle of some of best fruit stands in the world”.

To the uninitiated – organizers say a farm trail is like a wine trail – with visitors being able drive to, taste, and purchase produce fresh from the farm while on the self guided route.
