FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Small and mid-sized business owners are hoping to increase their labor force in 2016, according to a new survey by Vistage Worldwide Inc.

More than half of the firms included in the San Diego-based company’s CEO Confidence Index Survey plan to expand, while only 8 percent intend to cut back.

Hiring, training, and retention challenges should lead to a tightened labor market, meaning higher wages and better benefits.

Many also expect to make new investments and see greater profits.
