Don’t Let Social Media Ruin Your Career Prospects

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Posting negative comments, inappropriate pictures, or other unflattering content on social media, could prevent you from getting that job you’re wanting, according to a new survey from staffing firm OfficeTeam.

Uploading or being tagged in pics that aren’t office-appropriate is bad idea. Experts say you should remove or untag yourself from them, and be sure to use a polished profile photo.

Posting about every party and social gathering, taking silly quizzes, or playing tons of games is just TMI, OfficeTeam says, as certain topics can make you look unprofessional.

But don’t just focus on what not to do; use social media to your advantage. Connect with the right people, lay out your skills, and highlight your career accomplishments.
