FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Filmmaker Kevin Halpern claims the founder of Uber stole his idea for a cellular-based car service, from his 2003 startup Celluride Wireless.

Halpern’s attorney, Christopher Dolan, says Halpern shared his idea with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, back in 2006.

Two years later, he and his co-founder presented the idea at venture capital conference, and Uber was launched just months later.

However, Uber says Halpern’s claims are baseless.
