Suspected Serial Rapist To Stand Trial

GAVEL

A judge rules that a suspected serial rapist will stand trial.

35 year-old Carlos Ramirez is accused of raping at least 5 women, forcing them to have sex with him.

The first rape took place in July of 2013.

Investigators say Ramirez posed as a police officer during the crime spree.

Ramirez was booked on 15 counts of rape and kidnapping charges, with DNA linking him to three cases.

The Sanger man would allegedly target his victims in areas of high prostitution and would threaten them with a gun or taser – taking them to isolated areas then raping them.

His attorney, Roger Nuttal, says the sex was consensual.

Ramirez is being held in Fresno County Jail in lieu of 3 million dollars bail
