Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says Value-Added Producer Grants enable new farmers to develop new product lines to grow their businesses and expand their contributions to the nation’s economy.
USDA is making 30-million dollars available to farmers, ranchers and food entrepreneurs through the VAPG program.
Vilsack says this support is especially important for beginning farmers, military veterans engaging in farming and smaller farm operations participating in the local and regional food system.
The deadline to apply with paper applications is July 7th.
Electronic applications are due July 2nd through www.grants.gov.
