Fresno PD Increases Presence Over Holidays

Mounted Police

From mounted horse patrols to uniformed and undercover officers, you will see more police presence at shopping centers during the holidays.

From now until Christmas, Fresno Police are beefing up patrol to cut down on crime at shopping centers.

Chief Jerry Dyer says it up to citizens to be vigilant, as well.

Cheif Dyer Speaks About Presence

“We want to make that they are aware of their surroundings, too – park in well-lit areas, and not leave items as temptation for would be thieves to break a window and take their valuables.” – Police Chief Jerry Dyer

Chief Dyer says to criminals “You better watch out!!” there will be 30 to 40 officers per shift to catch crooks.

The CHP is helping out, and police will use tools like video cameras – from their surveillance system and in retail stores —to spot thieves.
