FRESNO (KMJ) — Fresno State has launched what it calls the ‘Helping Hams’ drive.
The campaign which kicked off Thursday morning is to get holiday hams to the charitable organizations affiliated with Fresno State.
“To provide hams to those who cannot purchase them themselves”, says Fresno State President Joseph Castro who was joined at the event by Victor E. Bulldog III.
It’s the third annual drive and it’s described as joint effort between Associated Students Inc. and the Gibson Farm Market.
“To raise money to donate student produced holiday hams to charitable organizations affiliated with our campus.
“Our goal this year is to get 175 hams in two weeks”.
Donations in increments of $5 to provide student produced hams will be accepted until December 4th at the Gibson Farm Market, at 5368 N. Chestnut Avenue.
Fresno State students donating $5 will receive a free kid’s scoop of ice cream at the Gibson Farm Market.
The Helping Hams campaign is coordinated by the Jordan College, its student-operated Gibson Farm Market and Meat Science Department and Associated Students Inc.
