FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The bill calls for eliminating California’s personal-belief and religious exemptions.
It’s authored by State Senator Dr. Richard Pan, who’s drawn bipartisan support, in the wake of the measles outbreak linked to Disneyland.
All students would have to be vaccinated, with medical waivers available only to those who have a health problem.
The legislation has cleared the California Senate Education Committee, but opponents continue to express their outrage, claiming vaccines are responsible for severe disorders.
Pan’s measure now heads to the Judiciary Committee.
