UC System Forms Committee to Investigate Sexual Harassment Allegations

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — University of California President Janet Napolitano says a committee of administrators, faculty, and students has been convened, to look at how complaints against tenured faculty are handled across the 10-campus system.

Famed UC Berkeley Astronomer Geoffrey Marcy has resigned his professorship, after an investigation found he sexually harassed several female students.

Napolitano says the committee will examine how professors are disciplined; it’ll make it’s recommendations by Feb. 29.
