FRESNO (KMJ) — A valley veteran, whose decorations include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the National Defense Medal, has been given a place to live with his family.

Lance Corporal Jordan Cody, who used to live in Clovis, is now making Fresno his home alongside his wife and 16 month old daughter after being given a mortgage free house.

The residence in northwest Fresno, which has been valued at around $240,000, was donated by the Military Warriors Support Foundation alongside Wells Fargo.

“We found out almost a month ago that this was happening”, explains Lance Corporal Cody. “But to be here and witness all this and the people that care and show support for veterans. It’s amazing”.

“It’s hard to believe, kind of like winning the lottery”.

Looking around the home he now owned, the the US Marine Corp veteran says he’s just taking it all in.

“I’m very grateful. For my family to be here and take this burden away that so many Americans deal with. I can have piece of mind and know that my family have shelter”.

Born and raised in North Carolina, he retired a year ago after six years of service.
