FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Men outnumber women at the local government level nearly 3 to 1, according to a new report co-sponsored by California Women Lead, and the League of California Cities Women’s Caucus.
The city of eureka stands out, with the only all-female council.
The California Legislature continues to be dominated by males, with only 31 females sitting the 120-seat body.
At the statewide office level, there are only two women, Attorney General Kamala Harris, and Controller Betty Yee.
Although, the state has two female U.S. Senators, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein.
