Cat Haven’s Cats Now Returning Home

FRESNO COUNTY (KMJ) — The Rough Fire’s increasing containment means many who were evacuated from their houses can now return home – but it’s not just the humans.

The feline occupants at Project Survival’s Cat Haven were forced to leave their sanctuary just over a week ago.

They’re now able to return – but first the logistics of it all have to be worked out.

“Since we’re not in as big a hurry as getting out we can do a little bit of better planning as far as which animals to get first and what rotation we need to do to get them back to the ‘Cat Haven’ safely” says Founder and Executive Director Dale Anderson.

“Everything worked well. It was surprising smooth with what we had to deal with. It was very pleasant”.

It’s expected to be around two weeks until the center is open again. They are now asking for donations to stay afloat and the link to their GoFundMe page can be found here, and to their own online donation page here.
