FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Fast food has declined in popularity over the past several years, with movies like Super Size Me highlighting the effects of consuming artificial ingredients.
But according to a new CDC report, about one-third of U.S. kids and teens, still consume pizza or other fast food every day. That’s virtually the same as it was back in the 90s.
African-American, Hispanic, and white youth get about the same proportion of their daily calories from fast food, while the average for Asians is slightly lower.
Researchers say fast food is responsible for childhood obesity, something that’s a national health concern.
