FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California State Water Resources Control Board has issued a nearly $225,000 fine against Sugar Pine Spring Water of Boise, Idaho.

The company is accused of unlawfully taking water from the Tuolumne River, after being notified that its permit no longer allowed for the diversions.

Sugar Pine is said have trucked 69 acre feet a year to its bottling plants.

The company is not commenting on the fine.
