FRESNO (KMJ) — A crowd of representatives from right across both the state and valley crowded into a meeting room in Downtown Fresno to bring improvements to the valley’s roads.
The group all collected behind a sign which read ‘Keep California Moving’ – and that’s the overriding theme.
“The infrastructure issue is about our whole state. We are connected. The economic impact of not fixing our infrastructure is critical for the entire state”, says Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins.
“The jobs related to the infrastructure in this region: about 520,000 jobs connected to goods movement in one way or the other”.
She adds that the current methods used to generate revenue are out of date. But where is the extra money going to come from?
“That’s the nature of the discussion”, continues Speaker Atkins. “What we do know is this: it needs to be impactful enough to help us get ahead”.
