Sheriff’s Detectives Searching For Suspect In Attempted Murder

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are searching for Francisco Petatan, 27, of Fresno.

He is wanted for attempted murder.

Petatan has a violent criminal history.

He may be armed, so the public should not approach him. Instead, call law enforcement immediately.

Around 3:00 pm Wednesday, someone called 911 after seeing a woman bleeding from the neck.

Deputies responded to an apartment complex on the 4200 block of E. Harvard Ave. in Fresno.

They found a 25-year-old woman who had been stabbed in her neck and back multiple times.

Paramedics took her to the hospital where she was treated and later released.

Petatan was identified as a suspect after he had run away.

Deputies searched the area, but were unable to find him. Petatan and the victim are known to each other.

Petatan is described as a Hispanic man, 5’5”, 130 lbs., with brown eyes, black hair and a goatee. He has tattoos on both arms and a tear on his left cheek.
