
FRESNO, CA (KMJ/KFSN) – A Valley man who managed to avoid police for more than two years made his first appearance in a Fresno County courtroom.
48-year-old Christino Rocha did not enter a plea on Wednesday and he will be back in court later this month
He faces a murder charge and was brought to the Fresno jail late Monday night after being extradited from Texas.
Investigators say he shot and killed 39-year-old Paul Fierro during an argument in Central Fresno in May of 2023.
Someone found Fiero lying on the road outside his home near Lansing and Glen.
His mother told action news she wants justice for her son.
Fresno police say a social media and crime stoppers campaign led them to him, more than 1500 miles away in Waco, Texas,
They say Rocha spent the last two years avoiding detection by using fake ID’s
Rocha’s now being held on a 1.5 million dollar bail.
