~March 2-6 is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week.
More than 2.5 million people live with MS.
This week, millions of Americans are joining the MS movement to help raise awareness and address the challenges of MS today.
"In Multiple Sclerosis, damage to the myelin coating around the nerve fibers in the central nervous system and to the nerve fibers themselves interferes with the transmission of nerve signals between the brain, spinal cord and the rest of the body. Disrupted nerve signals cause the symptoms of MS, which vary from one person to another and over time for any given individual, depending on where the damage occurs." – National MS Society Website
The number of ways to treat it have increased — from therapies to medications to outreach.
