TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — The woman found guilty by a jury of murdering her ex-husband has learned her sentence.
A judge ordered Erika Sandoval to spend 50 years to life in prison after a jury found her guilty in the deadly shooting of Exeter police officer Daniel Green.
This was the second time Sandoval was tried for her husband’s murder after the first ended in a hung jury in 2019.

Erika Sandoval admitted to shooting Green inside his Goshen home in 2015.
The second trial came with special allegations for using a firearm, but the jury denied the special circumstance of lying in wait.
That would have made Sandoval eligible for the death penalty under California law.
