FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — California voters say the government needs to do a better job of maintaining the roads. But, not everyone is willing to pay higher taxes.
According to a new Field poll, 71% say more money needs to spent on roads and highways.
However, there doesn’t appear to be a public consensus on how that should be done.
49% said they would support a 10 cent per gallon tax, while 48% said they would be opposed.
There’s also strong opposition to a proposed mileage tax.
The bottom line is, we want smooth roads without having to take a hit in the wallet. We can dream, can we not?
