FRESNO, CA (KMJ) The following is a congressional report made public Wednesday during a hearing of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. It unveils the results of its investigation into the illegal biolab discovered in Reedley following the subpoena the Select Committee issued in September.
Rep. Jim Costa (D-Fresno), Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield), Select Committee members, a biosecurity expert, and city officials from Reedley all participated in the hearing.
The lab’s operator, 62-year-old Jia Bei Zhu, has pleaded not guilty to several federal charges and remains jailed.
