Porterville Woman Convicted of Murdering Boyfriend with Hammer

A Tulare County jury on Monday convicted Rosa Baca for the 2018 murder of her boyfriend.

EMTs were called to a trailer home on S. Indiana Street and found the 38 year old victim bludgeoned. He died the next day in the hospital.

Baca, 55, admitted to investigators that the pair had an argument and that she kicked him, beat him with a hammer and driven their bloody clothes to a dumpster.

At trial, the jury convicted Baca of first-degree murder with the special circumstance that she inflicted torture and the special allegation that she used a deadly weapon. Sentencing is scheduled for July 31, 2023,where Baca faces life in prison without the possibility of parole
