KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ) — An ex-boyfriend has been arrested after deputies say he attempted to kidnap his former girlfriend in Kettleman City.
The Kings County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 300 block of King St. Wednesday night.
According to the victim, her ex-boyfriend Demetrio Castro broke into their home and attempted to kidnap her.
She says Castro grabbed her from behind and forcefully took her towards the door. The mother of the woman attempted to stop the accused kidnapper but fell.
Deputies say the man forced the woman outside towards his vehicle. The woman was shouting and got the attention of nearby neighbors who witnessed the incident.
One neighbor stepped in and called the sheriff’s office and the man was quick to let the woman go and take off in his car.
On Thursday, the Avenal Police Department was able to track him down and was handed over to deputies.
Castro is now booked into the Kings County Jail facing various charges including kidnapping and elderly abuse.
He is being held with no bail.
