
FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Fresno Police Department announced the arrest of a man they say shot and killed his son Wednesday in Fresno.
31-year-old William “Billy” Wright was shot to death by his own father Wednesday, according to Fresno Police.
Detectives arrived at the scene at a home on North Tamera Avenue after the shooting was reported around 11:00 am.
Wright had been hit by a single gunshot to the upper body and was rushed to CRMC by a family member.
He was pronounced dead just before 1:00 pm.

Investigators say Wright was in Fresno to visit family when an argument erupted between Wright and his father, 52-year-old William Wright.
Police say the father retrieved a handgun and shot his son.
The father remained on scene, was interviewed by detectives, and later booked into the Fresno County Jail for Murder.
The investigation is still in its early stages and detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to please contact the Fresno Police Department.
Billy Wright had been a football coach at College of the Sequoias and Reedley College.
