FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Part of the Merced River has been closed to angling.
The California Fish and Wildlife Department has closed a 5-mile stretch earlier than usual, due to high water temperatures.
The closure ranges from Crocker-Huffman Dam, to the Snelling Road Bridge.
It usually doesn’t happen until November, but the warm temperatures are a threat to fish.
