FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — For some, a glass or two of wine at dinner time may be a nightly ritual.
But, when it comes to younger consumers, much of the demand is at the premium end of the market.
A new report by a Fresno-based food and agriculture research team finds Millennials and Gen Xers are the primary groups driving the “premiumization” in the wine industry.
That has smaller brands doing more business on the web, leaving mainly the larger brands in the grocery store.
In addition, younger wine drinkers are said to look more closely at quality.
