FRESNO, CA (KMJ)  Premier Valley Bank has donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross of the Central Valley in support of those affected by the Creek Fire. According to a news release the contribution from the Fresno-based bank will help fund temporary housing, supplies, and other resources for displaced families across the impacted communities.

“We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross of the Central Valley to help our community in this great time of need,” says Lo Nestman, President & CEO of Premier Valley Bank. “We appreciate the amazing work they are doing and we are honored to support such an incredible organization.”

The Creek Fire has burned nearly 300,000 acres and destroyed 855 structures.  The cause of the giant blaze, which broke out September 4, is still under investigation.  Full containment is expected in mid-October.

Smoke will be a concern the next several days with a slight increase of visibility to 3 miles in the late afternoon however a dense layer will remain in lower canyons with haze on the upper slopes and ridges. The next seventy-two hours will see daily terrain driven winds from the southwest. While overall the temperature will warm with slightly lower relative humidity, but still near seasonal values and fair overnight moisture recovery.
The most fire activity will be around Whisky Falls, Browns Meadow, East Fork and Chiquito Creek towards Timber Butte and north of Strawberry Mine. On the eastern edge of the fire, from Bog Cabin to Pine Flat, any fire behavior will be limited by rocky terrain and lighter fuels.

“On behalf of the American Red Cross of the Central Valley, we are so pleased at the ongoing support provided by Premier Valley Bank,” says Robert Schumann, Sr. Regional Philanthropy Officer.
