MADERA, CA (KMJ) — A Madera Police officer’s body camera caught footage of the moment a woman crashed head-on into a parked patrol car.
It happened Thursday in the area of West Pecan in Madera.
According to Madera Police, the street was closed to through traffic while officers conducted a criminal investigation. A patrol car had its overhead lights activated and it was blocking the road.
Police say a woman drove onto Peacan Avene and traveled into the opposite lane of traffic.
That’s when the driver, identified as Teresa Orta, crashed head-on into the parked patrol car, police say.
Orta suffered minor injuries and was booked for felony DUI because her passenger was hurt, police say.
Police say Orta’s blood-alcohol level was over three times the legal limit.
