The 37 year old military veteran was the featured guest for a sold-out, nationally-televised town hall on MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Mathews.

Buttigieg was asked questions by a farmer about trade and tariffs.

He said it was a case of the GOP of raising taxes “on the back of our farmers.”

He said it’s a “pattern of poking people in the eye to see what happens.”

Buttigieg said if China is doing something unfair that’s one thing but he called what President Trump is doing “politically motivated gamesmanship.”
