FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – An investigation is underway in Sanger after deputies say a woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
It happened Tuesday afternoon in a citrus grove on N. MacDonough, north of Belmont Ave.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, a field worker found the woman on a canal bank in the grove.
The victim is believed to be in her early 40s, and had been shot multiple times, including her face.
Deputies say the woman was airlifted to a hospital and is in critical condition.
Deputies say the shooting does not appear to be random and that the woman was targeted.
