Couple Arrested For Hanford Killing, Caught Near LAX

Hanford, CA (KMJ) – A couple accused of killing a Hanford man may have been trying to leave the country.

Stacie Mendoza and Jose Mendoza were arrested Friday near LAX.

Jose Mendoza had a plane ticket to El Salvador.

Hanford Police say that on Thursday, April 12th, Stacie Mendoza told a property manager that Kenneth Coyle had been hurt and was recovering in Northern California.

Mendoza took Coyle’s truck and some of his belongings.
Something didn’t seem right, and that property manager reached to police.

Through an extensive investigation, police identified the two suspects.

Police tracked down the two, and say they confessed to the crime.

Officers say Stacie Mendoza led them to Coyle’s remains; his body had been burned in Madera County.

Police are now waiting for autopsy results to confirm whether it’s Coyle.

Stacie and Jose Mendoza now face charges including murder, torture, burglary, robbery, felonious elder abuse, and felonious child abuse.
