FRESNO,CA (KMJ) – The management company of a Kern County trailer park where a child died in a fire is facing involuntary manslaughter.
The fire broke out on the night of January 24, 2016, at the 4J’s Trailer Park in Oildale.
It occurred by a bedroom where the child was sleeping.
The adults inside the trailer were able to escape safely, but the baby died as a result of the fire.
The Kern County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that it has filed a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter against Pama Management, Inc., which operated the trailer park, and leased the trailer, for failing to maintain the trailer in compliance with California’s requirements for inhabited dwellings.
