FRESNO, CA (KMJ) A Varrio Fifth Street Bulldog gang member is behind bars after a wild chase late Tuesday night.
Fresno Police say they attempted to pull over the car being driven by 27 year old Martin Garcia near Sixth and McKenzie Ave. just before midnight. But Garcia jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot – leaving the car in motion with a passenger still inside.
An officer jumped into the driver’s seat and hit the breaks. The female passenger was not injured. The FPD officer also found a sawed off shotgun inside the vehicle.
A perimeter was set up and Garcia was eventually found hiding under a mattress and trash in a neighboring yard.

Garcia, who already had a warrant for his arrest, is facing several charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm.
