Madera County District Attorney Accused of Abusive Workplace Behavior

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Madera County District Attorney David Linn is accused of making inappropriate sexual, lewd, racist, and offensive comments to department employees.

The Board of Supervisors revealed Tuesday that Linn has allegedly engaged in a pattern of abusive behavior, since he assumed office in 2015.

The board is set to hold a special meeting on Monday, to consider publicly censuring him.

In a statement, Linn claims the announcement is politically motivated, adding that he intends to carry out his duties.

UPDATE:  DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S RESPONSE TO COUNTY PRESS RELEASE

MADERA, CA –   Madera County District Attorney David A. Linn announced today that he was shocked and saddened by the County’s press release which occurred immediately after the brief meeting he had with the Board of Supervisors.  Linn stated, “I had been told for over a month that I was not a subject for investigation or action.  The Chief Administrative Officer of the County, Eric Fleming, told me that the investigation and meeting was about the conduct of one disgruntled employee, who had previously made claims against the District Attorneys of Tuolumne and Stanislaus counties.”

Linn further stated, “The Board’s scheduling of a meeting this morning, and a special meeting on Monday, November 27 at 9:00 a.m., both fall within a period I had planned on being out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday. I do not believe this is an innocent coincidence. ”

  1. A. Linn categorically denies the vague allegations brought forth by the Board of Supervisors. Linn stated, “We have had virtually no turnover during my administration, and in fact, the majority of the Madera County Deputy District Attorneys have endorsed me for re-election.”

Linn further stated, “The Board of Supervisors is aware of the fact that I am attempting to clean up Madera County and I am preparing to prosecute corruption charges against two of the members of the Board.   Their action this morning is the Board’s reaction.  I also believe these actions are political retaliation, from the Board and Administration, to my well known policy against government corruption in Madera County. “

D.A. Linn has scheduled a press conference, at the Madera County District Attorney’s Office, for Monday, November 27, 2017, immediately following the Board of Supervisor’s special meeting.
