A criminal rampage in the wilderness east of Bakersfield has left one man dead and two Kern County sheriff’s deputies wounded. And that triggered a manhunt, which has been underway since last week. .
The rampage began July 28, when investigators say three men were kidnapped at a cabin near Twin Oaks. On Thursday, in another cabin 10 miles away, a retired dentist was found dead.
And over the weekend, two deputies were wounded during an exchange of gunfire. From cabins, trailers and homes, the man is believed to have stolen handguns and shotguns.
Yesterday, The Kern County Sheriff’s Office released this sketch of the man they are hunting.
This man is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office main line at (661) 861-3110 or (800) 861-3110.
The Sheriff’s office provided the following description for the suspect:

•30-35 years old
•5-foot-8
•160 pounds
•long brown hair
•blue eyes
•wearing a green bandana, corduroy hat, olive green shirt and olive green pants
•dirty in appearance
•sun-weathered skin
