Senate Blocks GOP Vote To Defund Planned Parenthood

 PLANNED PARENTHOOD

The Senate blocked a GOP bill to halt federal funds for Planned Parenthood in mostly party-line vote.

Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren asked her GOP colleagues: “Do you have any idea what year it is? Did you fall down and hit your head and think you woke up in the 1950′ or the 1890’s?

Assemblyman Jim Patterson was going to introduce a bill that would have cut California’s funding for Planned Parenthood locations that provide fetal body parts for research.

Patterson declined to comment on the Senate’s decision.

The Executive Director of Right to Life of Central California, Michael Salinas: “We’re very disappointed of course obvious it looks like the pro-abortion agenda took priority over real women’s health.”

Planned Parenthood and its supporters say it has broken no laws and calls the GOP effort an attack on women’s health care.
