FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — 68% of California’s previously uninsured population now have access to medical care.

The largest segment has gained coverage through Medi-Cal, followed by company plans, and the state health exchange, Covered California.

That’s according a recent study by the Kaiser Family Foundation, which notes that reaching the final share of the uninsured population will likely be difficult.

Covered California hit a number of road bumps early on, but exchange director Peter Lee anticipates further growth.
