Fresno Welcomes 2017 Miss California & Miss California Outstanding Teen Pageant Contestants

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno City Council members welcomed the 2017 Miss California Contestants to Fresno at City Hall Friday morning.

46 beauty contestants from across the state are in the Valley for this year’s Miss California and Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Pageant.

Miss Central California, Stephanie Behring, Miss Central Valley, Blaire Bostwick, Miss Fresno County, Hannah Huyck, Miss Kings County, Laura Sparks, Miss Merced County, Francess Carpenter, Miss North Valley, Sara Beth Arroyo, Miss San Joaquin County, Amy Montes-Espinoza, Miss Tulare County, Elizabeth Sartuche, and Miss Yosemite Valley, Jillian Smith.

There’s a week’s worth of activities including a visit to a Grizzles game and the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, and competition in Downtown Fresno, including interviews, swim wear, and a talent competition.

It all culminates in the Coronation Gala, Saturday, July 1st at the Saroyan Theater.

Each contestant wins a scholarship with a 15-thousand cash scholarship for the winner.

The woman named the 2017 Miss California will do a lot traveling as ambassador for American Pistachio Growers.
