2000 Expected Saturday At Fresno’s Support Blue Run

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Thousands are expected to take part in Saturday’s 2nd annual Support Blue 5k/10k Run in Fresno.

Organizers say it’s growing from the 450 people who participated last year to some 2000 expected to take part in the event, this year.

The Fresno Police Chaplaincy is organizing the run taking place on February 25th at Woodward Park.

“Even though there’s this national anti-law enforcement narrative going across the country, we know the majority of our community actually supports law enforcement. That’s the main gist of what the run is for but it’s also supporting our- the Fresno Police Chaplains Office. We have a project STEALTH: Stop Teen Exploitation and Liberate Through Hope – and that’s the charity we are funding with the run.- Kate Woertman, Patrol Chaplain & Marketing Assistant, Fresno Police Chaplaincy.

The 5k/10k starts at 8:00am at Woodward Park. It’s kid friendly, too.

“We’re going to have some face painting, and the SWAT Team will be out there, K9’s, Mounted Patrol, Bomb Squad, along with food trucks, and a kid’s zone.” -Kate Woertman, Fresno Police Chaplaincy.
