Report: More Women Leading U.S. Companies

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — For the third-straight year, the percentage of women leading the workforce has risen.

According to a new Challenger, Gray & Christmas report, 18.5 percent of new CEOs in America are women.

However, analysts say the road to diversity in upper management has been long.

In 2015, women accounted for a mere 7 percent of fortune 1000 CEOs.

On the bright side, women have made substantial gains in HR and marketing, making up 62 percent of chief human resources officers, and almost half of chief marketing officers.
