FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Operation Santa Claus Travels to Valley Children’s Hospital spreading some early Christmas cheer.
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims and almost two dozen of her “elves” visited young patients and their families who are spending their holidays at Valley Children’s Hospital.
Sheriff Mims and her staff members distributed toys on Tuesday, December13th to children battling serious illnesses.
“It really is a positive thing to be able to do, even though it’s difficult to see what some of these kids are going through here in the hospital. We’re getting a lot more than we’re giving when we hand out these toys.” -Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims .
The Sheriff was joined by members of the Sheriff’s Foundation for Public Safety, Toys for Tots, and both the Latino Peace Officers Association and Fresno Insurance Claims Association, who supplied the toys.
