Adopt a Pet at the Big Fresno Fair

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – At the Big Fresno Fair you can ride the rides and eat the food – but you can also adopt a dog or cat.

The Central California SPCA will once again allow fairgoers to stop by and adopt a pet at their booth – for discounted prices.  Adopting a dog costs $150, while adopting a cat costs just $60. Central California SPCA Spokesperson Walter Salvari says it’s a great deal, considering buying a pet and getting them spayed/neutered can cost as much as $500.

Unfortunately, you cannot adopt a dog and walk him around the fairgrounds. However, the SPCA will hold your new pet for you at their booth until you’re ready to leave.  You can find the booth near the kids exhibits, by one of the exits.
