FRESNO (KMJ) – The two newest additions at the Madera County Sheriff’s office have four legs – not two.
“Nacho” is a one-and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois and “Gastone” – also the same breed – is two years old.
Both dogs were imported from France, and paid for by numerous donations from the community.
Deputy Logan Majeski will be Nacho’s handler (left photo) and Deputy Eric Jackson will be Gastone’s handler (pictured below right).
The dogs and their handlers just completed a rigorous six week training and certification course for their new assignment.
These are the first two K9s to be deployed, with plans to purchase two more.
