FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A lioness at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo is pregnant.
Kiki and her partner, Chisulo, are expecting their first litter of cubs together.
Right now, the zoo doesn’t know how many cubs are in the litter, because they can only see one side of her stomach with the ultra sound.
Chaffee Zoo Marketing Manager Ciara Castellanoz says Kiki may not always be at her exhibit over the next several weeks because of the pregnancy.
The cubs are expected to arrive in early October. The zoo says they’re not sure yet where the cubs will go once they’re born. It will depend on how many there are.
