A New Initiative to Combat Sex Trafficking in Calif.

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A bill headed to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown would allow all local governments in the Golden State, to seize the vehicles of those arrested on allegations of paying for sex.

Combating exploitation remains among the top priorities of many local law enforcement agencies.

The legislation aims to make it easier on them, as they would no longer have to adopt a specific ordinance, allowing the seizure of vehicles driven by suspected johns.

Its author, Stockton Assemblywoman Susan Eggman, says johns are just as responsible for exploitation, as traffickers and pimps.
