FRESNO (KMJ) – Fresno State marks 10 million hours of community service in 10 years.
There are more than 40 university programs offering service to the community with an estimated economic impact of over $33 million dollars.
The school’s “Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-learning” allows students the opportunity to do good works.
It was established thanks to a multi-million dollar gift by Bud Richter and his wife,

On August 31st, Fresno State will host a fair at The Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning to share information about volunteer opportunities in the community.
Over 70 agencies are expected to attend.
The 24th Community Service Opportunities Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, in Memorial Court outside the Kennel Bookstore.
“Those attending the fair will be able to personally shop the agencies to learn more about the services they provide and the volunteer opportunities they have available,” -Trisha Studt, Community Partnerships Cordinator, Richter Center.
