Fresno Releasing Water Testing Results

DIRTY WATER

FRESNO (KMJ) – The City of Fresno set to address the ongoing dirty water issues on Thursday, August 11th.

Mayor Ashley Swearengin will join the City Manager Bruce Rudd and Tommy Esqueda, the Director of Public Uilities to announce results of its internal investigation into discolored water.

Utilities Director Tommy Esqueda sat down with KMJ, last week.

“I just want to clarify that we have always been in compliance with our lead and copper samples, we’ve been doing it since 1993. In the last 23 years, we have had eight samples above the action level and those have all been reported to the state, and we’ve gotten everything required to the state, and so we are in compliance as we sit here.” – Tommy Esqueda, Public Utilities Director.

The City of Fresno recently began to testing the water inside homes and analyzing results to pinpoint the source of the discolored water.

The County Health Department has been taking the lead —looking into any environmental conditions.

An investigation into the breakdown of communication and reporting of water issues in homes will be discussed as will the details -time and location – of an upcoming community meeting.
